Chicken Chow Mein

Chicken Chow Mein

Serves 3-4

6 oz. FARKAY CHOW MEIN NOODLES
¾ c. beef, chicken or pork, sliced thin or shrimp
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. soy sauce divided
1/8 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cooking wine (optional) or water
¼ c. water
1 tbsp. oyster sauce
2 tbsp. cooking oil
1 slice fresh ginger (shredded) or 1/8 tsp. ground ginger or 1 clove garlic
½ c. onion, sliced thin
½ c. celery, sliced diagonally
½ c. mushrooms, sliced
1 small green pepper, sliced
1 c. bean sprouts or shredded cabbage
¼ tsp. salt
½ c. consommé
1 scrambled egg, shredded

Marinate meat (shrimp) with pepper, 1 tbsp. soy sauce, sugar, and wine (or 1 tbsp. water) for 10 to 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, prepare the sauce using water, 1 tbsp. oyster sauce and 1 tbsp. soy sauce.
Pour cooking oil into a hot wok or skillet; add ginger or garlic, onions and meat (shrimp), stir-frying about 3 minutes.
Add vegetables, salt, consommé and FARKAY CHOW MEIN NOODLES. Stir-fry and cover, cooking with high heat for 3 minutes. Pour sauce in and bring to boil and mix.
Place cooked FARKAY NOODLES on a deep platter. Garnish with shredded egg.

P.S. I didn't make the sauce as the recipe says with 1 tbsp. oyser sauce and 1 tbsp. soy sauce. Instead I used:

3 tablespoons molasses
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon flour

Just stir all ingredients together in a small bowl.
