Soft n' Cakelike Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 slightly beaten eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 ounces sour cream
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions

COMBINE flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in small bowl. Beat shortening brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs and sour cream beating well. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
